K-7 Free, Public Montessori Charter School Enrollment Info
If more applications are received during the open enrollment period than available openings in any grades K-7, a lottery for the openings in those grades must be held. We expect to communicate enrollment determinations mid-March. Detailed information will be provided on the online K-7 Student Application Form.
Per Minnesota law, Creekstone Montessori Charter School’s enrollment process for each school year begins with a defined enrollment period determined by the school’s Board of Directors. Notice of this enrollment period will be made public through virtual meetings, postings on public bulletin boards, press releases to area media outlets and communication to pre-school programs in the Red Wing area. This information is also contained here on the school website.
The enrollment capacity at each grade level is approved by the Board of Directors prior to the start of the Open Enrollment period. Visit the Open Enrollment page to learn how the process takes place.
Once the Open Enrollment window has passed, Creekstone Montessori Charter School will review the number of applications to determine if a public lottery will be required for any level. Families may continue to apply for admission to Creekstone Montessori Charter School after the enrollment window has closed. If openings are available at the levels applied for, students will be admitted in the order the application is received. If capacity has been reached at any level, new applicants will be placed on a waiting list by date of the submitted application.

CMS may not, and will not, give preference to students of the tuition-based preschool programming offered through the school. Any family participating in the tuition-based preschool programming who wants their child to attend K– 7th grade at CMS must participate in the enrollment process and, if necessary, lottery draw.
Enrollment Preferences: As required in Minnesota Statutes, section 124E.11, Creekstone Montessori School must offer preferential enrollment to siblings of students currently enrolled in grades K-7 and to a foster child of that pupil’s parents at Creekstone Montessori School. Sibling preference does not apply to siblings of students enrolled in the Preschool. As allowed for in Minnesota Statutes, section 124E.11, CMS also offers preferential enrollment to children of school employees.
Non-Discrimination Statement: No child may or will be denied admission to Creekstone Montessori School on the basis of gender, religion, ethnicity, or intellectual or physical ability. CMS is a tuition-free, K-7 school. Students from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
