K–6 Enrollment
(Public Charter School)
Open Enrollment Window
The enrollment window for the 2026–2027 school year will open in February 2026.
Specific dates will be announced as they are finalized.
Eligibility Requirements
- Kindergarten Age Requirement: Children must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026 to enroll in kindergarten.
- Residency: Students must live in Minnesota to enroll in our public charter school.
- Current K–6 Students: All currently enrolled K–6 students are automatically re-enrolled for the upcoming school year—no application is required.
Important Note About Kindergarten Admission
Enrollment in our preschool program does NOT guarantee placement in our K–6 public charter school. All preschool students must apply as new applicants for kindergarten following the K–6 enrollment and lottery process when they are age-eligible.
How Enrollment Works
1. Submit an Application During the Enrollment Window
All applications received during the open enrollment period are treated equally.
2. Lottery (If Required)
If more applications are received than the number of available seats in any grade:
- A public lottery will be held.
- Lottery results will be announced in March.
3. After the Enrollment Window
Following the close of open enrollment:
- If a grade still has space, students are admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.
- If a grade is full, new applicants will be placed on a waitlist in the order applications are received.
K–6 Enrollment Preferences
As allowed by Minnesota law, preference may be given to:
- Siblings of currently enrolled K–6 students
- Foster children of the parents of currently enrolled students
- Children of school employees
Legal Disclosures: Creekstone Montessori School’s K-6th grade levels are publicly funded programs and, as such, the enrollment process may not consider eligibility based on intellectual ability, aptitude, measurement of achievement, athletic ability or any other specific characteristic of children whose enrollment application is received in a timely manner. CMS may not, and will not, give preference to students of the tuition-based preschool programming offered through the school. Any family participating in the tuition-based preschool programming who wants their child to attend K– 6th grade at CMS must participate in the enrollment process and, if necessary, lottery draw.
Enrollment Preferences: As required in Minnesota Statutes, section 124E.11, Creekstone Montessori School must offer preferential enrollment to siblings of students currently enrolled in grades K-6 and to a foster child of that pupil’s parents at Creekstone Montessori School. Sibling preference does not apply to siblings of students enrolled in the Preschool. As allowed for in Minnesota Statutes, section 124E.11, CMS also offers preferential enrollment to children of school employees.
Non-Discrimination Statement: No child may or will be denied admission to Creekstone Montessori School on the basis of gender, religion, ethnicity, or intellectual or physical ability. CMS is a tuition-free, K-6 school. Students from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Creekstone Montessori School admits students of any race, color, gender, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. CMS does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, or programs.
